Principal Changes of the 10/13/2017 Release

 US release: 10/13/17

International release: 10/20/17 (expected)

With this release, we’re incredibly excited to announce a major upgrade to your Everlaw review tools: it’s now possible to redact cells within the native spreadsheet viewer, giving you the power to produce exactly what you want, in the format that you want. We’ve also heard your requests for greater advanced search capabilities, and that’s what we’re giving you with this release. Get ready for complex proximity searches like never before!

As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out to support@everlaw.com with any support questions you may have. Release time is also the perfect opportunity to schedule a Q&A session to learn how to harness all of Everlaw’s many features, so please feel free to email training@everlaw.com to schedule one!

Native spreadsheet redactions

With this new feature, you are able to redact cells right in the native spreadsheet viewer. This improvement allows you to redact sensitive information in your spreadsheet—down to individual cells—and subsequently produce it as a spreadsheet file (e.g., xlsx), rather than an imaged version of your spreadsheet.

You can apply redaction stamps to cells, view the original formulas underlying redacted cells, and choose what happens to cells whose values depend on redacted cells. For more information, check out this help article on native spreadsheet redactions.

Phrase-based proximity searches

One of the most frequent requests we hear from users about search is for the ability to create more advanced content searches. With Everlaw’s updated search tool, you can now construct proximity searches that incorporate phrases and other proximity searches. Looking for documents with either the word “forecast” or the wildcard search “temp*” within 20 words of the phrase “record high”? Look no further! Everlaw’s Contents search term is all you need to find the documents you’re looking for.
