1. Introducing Predictive Rating
We're proud to announce our proprietary Technology-Assisted Review tool, Predictive Rating. Predictive Rating learns from how you've manually rated documents (hot, warm, or cold) to predict how the rest of the documents in your case might be rated.
Here are some highlights:
- Predictive Rating doesn't require any configuration. It'll start working automatically in the background once a case has accumulated a few hundred manual ratings.
- The system identifies documents along a gradient from hot to cold. You can use it to drill down to potentially cold documents for culling, or you can zoom in on the documents the system thinks are likely to be hot to focus on the interesting stuff.
- Predictive Rating runs continuously as you review your case, updating its predictions every day. It'll get smarter over time and provide you with better results as your case matures.
- It's obviously useful in new cases, but it can also be used in old ones as well; one of our beta-tested cases is four years old, and Predictive Rating revealed several critical new documents!
- Best of all, as with our other features, it's completely free for users of Everlaw. No need to pay a third-party vendor tens of thousands of dollars for a one-time TAR tool; you get Everlaw's fully-integrated, continuously updated Predictive Rating system at no additional cost.

2. New Native Viewer
We've radically improved the native viewer! It's faster, you don't need flash anymore, and the keyboard shortcuts and user experience are now the same as for the other viewers. Also, the hit highlighting panel is fully integrated, so you can now find your hits in both native and text views.
3. Built-in Excel Spreadsheet Viewer
One of the biggest complaints we hear about native viewers on any ediscovery platform is "but it's terrible for spreadsheets". It's true: spreadsheets don't translate well to the typical paginated native view. Sheets often span multiple pages in awkward fashion, and you can't view the formulas that compute the numbers that you see. We've heard firsthand from a number of case leads that oftentimes critical information slips through the cracks in spreadsheets simply because reviewers don't have adequate tools to review them.
So we've gone to fairly ridiculous lengths to make reviewing spreadsheets easy in Everlaw: we've written a custom in-browser spreadsheet viewer. It shows sheets in their native form; you can jump between sheets like you jump between pages in a normal document. It also lets you mouse/keyboard around each sheet to explore the data, viewing formulas as you would in Excel. Finally, you can view charts and graphs directly in the viewer. The spreadsheet viewer will automatically load in place of the new native viewer where appropriate.
