This release adds user groups and a beta version of email threading.
1. User Groups
User groups enable case administrators to control which users can perform certain actions in their case. Admins can access this functionality from the Case Settings page.
You can use these tools to add, modify or delete groups of users with specific permissions on your case, and then assign different users to these groups as appropriate. The permissions you can currently control include:
- Viewing documents
- Rating documents
- Coding documents
- Writing notes
- Editing user metadata
- Running batch updates
- Case administration
By default, cases have two groups: Administrators, who have access to and control over to case settings, and Reviewers, who do not (both of which have full access to Everlaw's review features).
2. Email Threading
We're excited to introduce email threading—automatically identifying, extracting, and organizing email conversations from your case documents so that you can review them in context.
Email threading information is currently exposed in the form of a new document grouping option—if this feature has been enabled for your case, there will be an "Email Threads" option under the "Show..." grouping button on the results page which will group your search into email threads.
This is a 'beta' release—we're exited to put this powerful tool in your hands now with the goal of ironing out any issues as we go. As such, we'll be making this feature available on a per-case basis over the next few weeks so that we can get feedback and make adjustments or improvements as necessary. Please get in touch with us at email@example.com, or call us at 1 (844) EVER-LAW if you'd like to request early access for your case!
There's a lot more information to be gained from email threading—the actual conversation structure, what people are involved, missing messages... We're working on a new interface to make it easy to explore this complex data along with other grouping information while you review—look for it in an upcoming release!
