Principal Changes of the October 25, 2013 Release

Note: These release notes may not reflect current Everlaw functionality, as product updates may have changed certain features since these notes were published. Please refer to our Knowledge Base for support articles on current functionality.

This release adds expert folders, easier user creation, and a number of usability improvements, several of which were suggested by users.

1. Expert Folders

(Admin only)

Expert folders enable you to share documents with outside experts, or with specialized reviewers, in a controlled manner. Simply search for the documents you wish to add to the expert folder, and then add them to the folder via the Export tab.

Finally, switch to the expert folder as you would any other case, and add your experts as users to the folder.

Exported documents do not retain any of your ratings, codes, tags, or notes, so your experts will see only the documents themselves. As an administrator on the expert folder, you can track your experts' progress as they review the documents.

2. Easier User Creation

(Admin only)

Administrators can now easily create new users to add to their case. Simply enter the desired user's email address into the user table, and fill out the relevant details. The user will receive an email with instructions to create a new account on Everlaw.

3. UI Improvements

You can now scroll within a document page using the keyboard, via Shift-Left, Right, Up, and Down. Left and Right by themselves still navigate between pages, and Up and Down by themselves still navigate between documents.Note Preview

You can now view all of a document's attorney notes from the results table. If the note contents do not fit in the table cell, click on 'Read more...' to display a pop-up window that shows all of the notes. You can even add more notes from this pop-up. Furthermore, the note shown in the table cell is now the most recently added note, rather than the least recently added notes.

Task Completed

When a task of yours (e.g. a document export) is completed, you will receive a notification on whatever screen you happen to be on; no need to track progress from the home screen.

Doctype Icon Download

If a document type icon in the results table is green, that means that we have the actual native version of that document. You can download the native directly from the results table by clicking on the icon, rather than having to open up the document in the review window.

Recent Activity

(Admin only) You can now view a user's recent activity on the site by clicking on his or her name in the Users table in the Admin interface.
