Principal Changes of the 8/28/2015 Release

Our second release this month includes a few new features designed specifically around your feedback.  We think you’ll love them!

Text Redaction

We’ve extended our dedicated redaction toolset by adding the ability to directly and precisely select any text to redact within a PDF document rendition (now our standard image format). Just select the Text Redaction tool from the toolbar when using the PDF image viewer and highlight away. With one more click, you can also redact every instance of the highlighted word or phrase within the current document.

PII Highlighting

Speaking of redaction, there are some types of personally identifiable information (PII) that you’ll need to find and redact frequently—email addresses, phone numbers, and Social Security numbers—so we’ve made that process dead simple.  In the document review window, you can add a Custom Hit search for those common text patterns.  Just put the cursor in the Custom Hit search box and select the pattern you want from the drop-down list that appears.  If you’re an admin and you want those patterns highlighted everywhere, simply add them in the same way to the list of Persistent Highlights for your case.

Two-Factor Authentication

We take security very seriously, and we know you do, too.  That’s why we’ve added two-factor authentication (TFA) to Everlaw. You can activate TFA for your own account, or we can activate it for your entire case.  Once activated, you’ll then be required to authenticate every computer or device through which you’d like to access Everlaw by providing both your password (factor one) and another piece of information (factor two).  This could be either a one-time code delivered to your email address or a rolling code from the linked Google Authenticator app on your mobile device.  If you select the “remember this computer” option when logging in, Everlaw will remember your computer or device for thirty days, during which you can bypass the TFA process.

We love to craft features in response to your needs, and we hope this release reflects that.  If there is anything else you’d like to see us prioritize on our product development roadmap, just drop us a line!
