Everlaw AI Assistant Beta Updates
Writing Assistant improvements
Deposition analysis
You can now use Writing Assistant to summarize and analyze deposition transcripts to generate actionable insights on key information in your transcripts. You can use deposition analysis to generate:
- Deponent background and topic-based summary: a high-level summary of the deponent’s background and their testimony by topic
- Exhibit and witness summary: a high-level summary by exhibits and individuals mentioned in the testimony
- Inconsistency and discrepancy analysis: a high-level analysis of any inconsistencies or discrepancies in the testimony
- Custom task based on your own instructions
Table output form
You can now generate Writing Assistant tasks that output as tables.
Once the table is generated, you can view it in read-only mode in the side panel and edit it when it's added to the Draft or Deposition body:
We’re also adding a new Everlaw Template called Cast of Characters to showcase how to use the table form. This template generates a table of key entities drawn from the evidence, along with information about those entities.
The output includes columns for Name, Entity Type, Facts, and Relevant sources:

Review Assistant custom extractions
We’re introducing the initial version of a new tool called Custom Extractions to the beta. Custom extractions allow users to easily extract out desired pieces of information from documents. For example, if patient records are part of your corpus, you can extract out values from those records – drugs and dosages, medical care providers, etc. – that are important to capture. Custom extractions are useful in cases when keyword or regular expression searches are too ineffectual or cumbersome.
In subsequent releases, we’ll enhance this functionality with improved performance, templated extractions, batch extractions, and search and export abilities. For now, we’d love to hear any early feedback from our beta users about this tool.

Smaller beta improvements
Has Description/Summary search term
You can now search for documents based on whether they have an AI description/summary. To search by this attribute, add the Has Description/Summary term to your query builder.
To find all documents that do not have an AI description/summary, negate this term by clicking on it
Review Assistant sticky tabs
Everlaw now smartly selects which Review Assistant tab to display while users navigate documents in the Review Window. This saves users clicks as they use the Assistant across documents.
- If there are no AI-insights generated for a document, Everlaw will select the Coding Suggestions tab
- If only one tab has AI-generated insights, Everlaw will select that tab
- In all other cases, Everlaw will select the last tab viewed in the current session
Task speed ups
Beta users can expect to see significant speed improvements – up to 10-30x – across all features.
Tables in Drafts and Depositions
You can now add tables to Storybuilder Drafts and Depositions to organize information and evidence. To add a table, insert it from the body of a Draft or Deposition, import a Word document that includes a table, or paste a table from your clipboard.
Once you have inserted a table, edit it by selecting the three-dot menu in any cell:

Database fields information in API
Everlaw’s API now includes database fields information to support more robust API based reporting analyses and utilization of database fields at scale. Specifically, this improvement adds database fields, field values, and field type to a select set of existing endpoints.

Increased limit to access hit highlights
Previously, the first 2500 pages of a document's PDF view were searchable for hit highlighting. Now the first 10,000 pages or 100 MB of text (whichever comes first) are searchable with hit highlights.
Faster page load
Page loading speeds have been optimized. Page load times across Everlaw have decreased 200-1200 milliseconds.
Visual Improvements
(Beta) Everlaw AI Assistant search terms separated into their own category
For projects in the Everlaw AI Assistant Beta program, Everlaw AI search terms now appear in their own section of the query builder.

Improvements to writing with evidence in Drafts and Depositions in Storybuilder
When selecting text, the selection now clearly displays that evidence links are part of the selection.
Clicking away from your Draft, like while using the EverlawAI Writing Assistant rewrite task, continues to display the text selection in gray.
It is now easier for you to keep your place in your Draft or Deposition. Inserting evidence now keeps the cursor at the location of the added evidence. In addition, the cursor is now visible even when it’s directly adjacent to an evidence link.
Training Center Update
We’re excited to share that we have launched a significant update to the Everlaw Training Center. The new site includes updated feature pages for focused learning about Everlaw’s core features, a new space with step-by-step walkthroughs of common workflows, and a unified resource page where you can access our full library of learning experiences. We’ve also added a dedicated space for new users, to simplify and streamline the process of beginning your Everlaw learning journey. We’re committed to continuing to improve and enhance the Everlaw learning experience so be on the lookout for more updates coming soon.
