Legal Holds external data preservation
Organization Admins and Legal Holds Organization Admins can now create external data preservation records in Everlaw, as a way to track data preservations that are managed in external applications.
This is useful if you are preserving data in services that Everlaw currently doesn’t have a direct API support for, such as Slack or Google, and you want to keep a record of these data preservations in Everlaw. External data preservations recorded in Everlaw allow your team to track all data preservations, and which matter or database they relate to, in a single place.
Asana connector filtering additions
When uploading data through the Asana connector, users are now able to filter Tasks and Messages by user and by date. This improvement allows you to specify exactly which users' data to include with your upload, as well as specify the date range for that data. Teams data will not be filtered and all Teams data will be uploaded if selected.
To learn more about the Asana connector, visit Uploading from Asana.
Broader document access in Difference Viewer
Previously, Difference Viewer only displayed document groups if the entire group was available to the user. If any document in a near duplicate group was unavailable due to restricted permissions or partial projects, the entire group would be unavailable for comparison.
Now, Difference Viewer displays all documents that the user has permission to view in the near duplicate group, regardless of whether they have permission to view all documents in the group. Only restricted-access documents or documents not in the user’s project remain hidden. This provides wider availability for Difference Viewer.
Password security improvements
At Everlaw, we’re always looking for ways to improve how we keep you and your data secure. In keeping with this mission, this release includes updates to improve password security for password authenticated users. These changes prevent users from creating or saving vulnerable passwords that are commonly used, easily predictable, or otherwise compromised. If a user’s attempt to save a password is rejected, Everlaw displays the reason for rejection and requires a new value.
Existing users will not be forced to update their passwords if they don’t already meet this criteria. However, the new restrictions will be enforced for any voluntary update.
Password authenticated users can update their password at any time via their account settings.
Option to view “All” Legal Holds for a given custodian
Users with access to Legal Holds now have an option to view “All” matters and databases pertaining to a custodian’s legal holds, from the legal hold custodian panel. This makes it easier to get a high-level glance at all legal holds pertaining to the given custodian.
To learn more about viewing custodian legal holds, visit Legal Holds Directories.
Cloud Management Upload notifications toggle moved
The Upload notifications toggle, previously located under Cloud Management > Office 365 has been moved to the Cloud Management > Advanced settings page.
This change was made because the setting could, in the future, be applied to additional connectors. However, for the time being, it still only applies to the Office 365 connector.
Visual improvements
- We updated the batch action Add to or remove from project dialog to call more attention to the impact of removing documents. The dialog now contains a confirmation checkbox, as well as red text and a red button, for emphasis.

- We added a browse button to the New Upload file selection page for processed uploads. This allows users to browse and select files on their computer, without having to drag and drop them onto the page. This option was already available for native uploads.
