Improved Chat Styling

***Please note: The following improvements to the rendering of chats will be added to the platform on the release dates noted above. Chats uploaded before these dates will still be rendered using the old design format, unless reprocessed post-release of this feature. 

With this release, we are introducing improvements to the rendering of chat data (e.g. Slack, Google Chat, Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp, iMessage) in Everlaw. These design improvements will help you understand key information about a chat conversation, such as the timezone, threaded messages, edits and deletions, and message reactions. 

Conversation header

The header on the first page of each chat document will contain important information about the conversation, like the platform, timezone, and contributors to the conversation. If the messages come from a group, like a Slack channel or a chat room, the group name and description will also be displayed. 

Chat organization

To help you better identify key time markers in a conversation, each new day will be indicated by a date timestamp header that precedes the first message sent on that day. 

You can also now easily identify threaded messages as each thread will be encapsulated in a box. The order that threads appear in the conversation is determined by the datetime of the first message in the thread. 

Message reactions and attributes

Any message edits and deletions will now be shown. Finally, you can see any and all emoji reactions to messages, along with the count of chat participants who reacted with a given emoji.

Search Processed Uploads by Processing Flags

You can now search documents uploaded as processed data by various kinds of processing flags. These flags are applied based on attributes of the native documents, if included, in a processed upload. Aside from scanning for these attributes, Everlaw does not otherwise process data in a processed upload.

The full list of flags that may be applied upon upload are: IsContainer, IsEncrypted, NISTDuplicate, Unknown, FlaggedMalicious, and PartialSupport. Other flags may be applied if you subsequently reprocess the documents in Everlaw after upload.

Walkme Guides on Non-US environments

Walkme product guides will now be available to UK, AU, EU, and CA customers. You can launch these guides from the  “Walk Me Through” widget at the bottom right of the screen. 

Clicking this widget will open a menu of interactive walkthroughs for various features on Everlaw. These walkthroughs provide step-by-step guidance as you complete different tasks on Everlaw, such as adding new users, running productions, and exporting documents.

The walkthroughs available in the menu will depend on which page you are viewing in Everlaw, with the exception of the Homepage, which contains all walkthroughs. 

Please feel free to submit feedback about the walkthroughs via the Walkthrough Feedback survey in the menu.

Binders in Everlaw Search API

We are expanding Everlaw’s API to support binders. You can now search by binders when submitting queries to the project search API endpoint. To support programmatic binder searching and referencing,  we have also added a standalone binders endpoint that returns a list of all binders in a project, including their names, ids, and owners.
