Preservations in place for Google Vault
With this release, you can create data preservations for Google Vault data within Everlaw. The data preservations allow you to safely preserve data from across your Google organization without leaving Everlaw.
Legal Holds custodian summary page
Organization Admins and Legal Hold Organization Admins can now review custodian information across legal hold matters from a single organization-level page, rather than piecing that information together matter by matter. This update is designed to make it easier to monitor custodian status, identify follow-up needs, and work from a broader view of legal hold activity.
Organization Admins can add users to multiple projects at once
This release includes a major improvement for Organization Admins who manage users across their Everlaw organization: Organization Admins can now add users to multiple projects at once from the Organization home.
Along with this, new users who are added to multiple projects at once can accept all those invitations at once, instead of via multiple emails.
Organization Admins can select from existing users when adding users from the Project Settings page
When adding users to a project from the Project Management > Project Settings > Users page, Organizations Admins will now have the option to select from existing users in the organization.
With this improvement, Organization Admins no longer need to use a spreadsheet or manual entry when adding users to a project.
Coding Suggestion rationales and category columns in the results table
Coding Suggestions can now be reviewed more directly from the results table. You can add category-specific Coding Suggestions columns, display the rationale associated with those suggestions, and include that information in CSV exports.
This update is intended to close the gap between Review Codes and Coding Suggestions by making Coding Suggestions more widely available to compare, inspect, and share in common review workflows.
OAuth2 access to Everlaw
OAuth2 is an industry-standard way for individual users to share data across services via delegated authorization. For organizations that enable it, OAuth2 provides a secure way for individual users to access the Everlaw data they have access to via third party tools/plugins that Everlaw has built connections with.
Advanced filtering in select review work results table columns
Advanced filtering options are now available for the Binders, Coded, Coded Under, Coding Suggestions, and coding category columns in any results table. Advanced filtering is helpful when you're working with a large results table of documents and you want to narrow down to a specific subset based on multiple values within a single column.
With the new filtering options you can:
- Connect multiple value selections with Any of (an OR connection) or All of (an AND connection)
- Choose one or more specific values to include and one or more specific values to exclude. Previously, you could only include or exclude specific values
- View your filter logic to make sure you are filtering down to the right set
Improved sorting options for assignment groups
This release includes two improvements to how documents get sorted in assignment groups:
- When creating an assignment group, there is a new step to select the sort order for documents
- There is a new option in existing assignment groups to sort the unassigned documents
The sort order for assignment groups determines the order in which documents get batched out in assignments for review. For example, if you want documents reviewed from oldest to newest, you should sort an assignment group by Primary date. Previously, this was only possible for assignment groups created from a results table via Batch > Assign.
Partial PII redactions available when batch redacting spreadsheets
You can now use Everlaw's partial PII redaction tool when batch redacting native spreadsheets. Partial PII redaction was already available for other document types. Adding spreadsheets allows teams to redact consistently, and in bulk, across document types.
Partial metadata redactions
You can now redact only part of a metadata value instead of redacting the entire field. Previously, users who needed this level of precision had to do part of the workflow outside Everlaw and then use an overlay to apply the result. This update supports both the review window and results-table batch workflows, which lets teams withhold sensitive metadata without removing the rest of the value from review and production workflows.
Important: This feature modifies how full metadata redactions are performed from the review window’s Metadata panel.
Updated homepage with a list layout
Everlaw’s homepage is now separated into object-based tabs (e.g. All, Searches, Assignments, etc). These new expanded object tab pages support two layouts: the existing card view and a new list view. This update is designed for teams working in large matters, where card layouts can become difficult to scan when there are many searches, assignments, document sets, and other homepage objects.

Expand truncated text in results table cells
You can now expand truncated text in the results table either for an individual column or for all visible columns at once. This makes it easier to review long values such as notes, rationales, and other text-heavy fields without opening documents or expanding cells one by one.
Exclude databases from Everlaw AI
While generative AI features are very useful for many cases, they are not appropriate for all cases. Previously, once Everlaw AI was toggled on for at the Organization level, single-document Everlaw AI actions could be enabled by a Project Admin in any project they had access to. With this release, Organization Admins and Everlaw AI Admins can exclude specific databases from using Everlaw AI at all. This gives admins fine-grained control over which databases make use of generative AI features.
Copy citation only in Storybuilder
You can now copy Citation only in three places in Storybuilder:
- When copying from a transcript
- When copying from the Highlights tab in the Transcript view of a Deposition
- When copying text from a text highlight or transcript highlight added as evidence on the Evidence page
When pasted, the citations are:
- Transcript citation: The citation, page number, and line numbers (e.g. (McGovern 1:17-19))
- Text highlight citation: Bates/Control number (e.g. (#42.1))
Copy link option to share a document
When you press the share button to share a document, you now have the option to copy the document's link. When you copy the link, you can paste it to share it outside of Everlaw, and anyone who has access to the document can use the link to open the document. You can do this instead of sharing a document via internal message, or to keep track of specific document URLs outside of Everlaw.
Improvements to Writing Assistant
We have made some behind-the-scenes updates to Writing Assistant. The results are a couple improvements:
- Composition outputs are more responsive to the evidence and instructions that you provide
- Composition outputs are more accurate and detailed
Visual improvements
- We have updated the Organization home
> Everlaw AI page to separate the single-document (included) features and the paid features. This makes it more straightforward for Organization Admins and Everlaw AI Admins to track which Everlaw AI features are enabled.
The Included AI tab includes:- Review Assistant: Summaries, extractions, and doc Q&A, coding suggestions, and stored translations
- Writing Assistant
- Deep Dive for transcripts
- Exclude databases
Paid AI includes:
- Deep Dive
- Batch Review Assistant
- In the result table’s Batch > Redact panel:
- The …
- The Redact metadata fields label has been shortened to just Redact metadata

After |
- The Redact metadata list contains two additional sections: PERSISTENT CATEGORIES and COMMON PII PATTERNS
