Enable Transcript Q&A Search for Storybuilder

Use this article to enable Transcript Q&A search for deposition transcripts in Storybuilder. This setup requires two levels of configuration: an organization-level enablement step and a project-level enablement step.

Transcript Q&A search is an Everlaw AI tool that is available for transcripts at no additional cost.

Requirements

Enabling Transcript Q&A search involves two different admin roles:

• An Organization Admin or Everlaw AI Admin must first enable the feature at the organization level.
• A Project Admin must then enable it in the specific project where users will ask questions across transcripts.

Step 1: Enable it for the organization

An Organization Admin or Everlaw AI Admin must first enable the organization-level setting.

To do so:

1. Go to Organization home > Everlaw AI.
2. In the Transcript Q&A search section, switch on Allow projects to enable transcripts question and answer search.
   

Once this setting is enabled, Project Admins can enable the feature within individual projects.

Step 2: Enable it in the project

After the organization-level setting is on, a Project Admin must enable the feature in the relevant project.

To do so:

1. Go to Project Management > Project Settings > Everlaw AI.
2. If Everlaw AI isn't already enabled on the project, select Enable Everlaw AI in this project.
   
3. In the Transcript Q&A search section, switch on Enable transcripts question and answer search.
   

Turning on the project setting starts an ingestion task so the transcripts can be prepared for question answering.

Transcript ingestion for Transcript Q&A search

When a Project Admin enables Transcript Q&A search:

• Everlaw begins ingesting the project’s existing transcripts for use in question answering
• Future uploaded transcripts are ingested automatically
• While ingestion is still in progress, users may see a notice indicating that answers might not yet include all transcript data
