Build reusable review processes with Workflows
Workflows allows teams to transform a multi-step review into one visual, repeatable process. On a drag-and-drop canvas, you set the rules for how documents move: route documents based on specific criteria, configure assignment groups, apply codes and other batch actions, and add gates where tasks must be complete or documents must be approved before they move on.
Once you add documents to a workflow, they advance automatically according to your rules, so hand-offs don’t depend on someone remembering them. Track the workflow’s overall progress, and see how many documents are at each step so you can open them and check what needs attention. When a process works well, copy it to your next project instead of rebuilding it.
Previously, teams had to stitch together assignment groups, searches, and batch actions, while tracking each hand-off and the overall progress manually.
Harvey MCP connector
Harvey users can now connect to Everlaw with the Everlaw MCP connector and search their Everlaw projects from Harvey. Your team can find and analyze case documents in the same place they draft and do legal research, without switching between tools.
Note
Everlaw’s MCP is only available in our US environment. It is not currently available to Everlaw GovCloud users or those using our Canada, EU, UK, or Australia environments.
Note
This connector is in early access, so please contact your Harvey representative for access.
To learn more, see our Set Up Everlaw MCP Connectors article.
Legora connection to Everlaw
You can now connect to Everlaw and search your Everlaw evidence from within Legora. This functionality was released October 23, 2026 and is fully available to users in supported environments. Learn about our connection in Search Your Everlaw Projects From Legora.
Note
At this time, the connection with Legora is available to users in our US, UK, EU, CA and AU environments. Before you connect, verify with your Legora rep that the data flow adheres to your requirements.
Use Deep Dive to clarify an unfamiliar term without leaving the document
When you encounter an unfamiliar term while reviewing a document, you can use a new Clarify button to generate an in-context explanation based on information in your project's documents. This lets you understand what's going on in your document without stopping to run a search or guessing at the meaning.
Note
The Clarify button follows Deep Dive access and is not available in GovCloud.
5,000 no cost document summaries in Storybuilder
The first 5,000 documents you add to Storybuilder can now be automatically summarized without using any credits. A document summary (Description) lets you understand your evidence at a glance, and makes a document available for Writing Assistant to use and cite. Previously, documents could be summarized one-by-one for no cost, or in batch with an associated credit cost.
Add a Deep Dive response to a Fact Timeline
You can now add a Deep Dive response to a Fact Timeline. This means that what you learn in Deep Dive becomes part of your Story in just a few clicks. Previously, moving a response into a Fact meant copying the text and then finding and linking each cited document yourself.
Upload Documents to Everlaw Through MCP Connectors
Users can now upload documents to Everlaw from an AI agent that is connected through the Everlaw MCP server. You can give the agent a direct, public link to a file, and it will start a native upload into your project of choice. This lets you add native data into Everlaw from the same AI conversation where you want to use it. Previously, the MCP connection could only access and search across documents already uploaded to Everlaw.
Create databases through MCP connectors
Organization Admins can now create Review and ECA databases from AI agents connected to the Everlaw MCP server. This allows you to open a new matter in the same AI conversation where you want to use it. Before this change, the database had to be created in Everlaw first, which split the start of a matter across two places.
This pairs well with our new feature allowing you to upload native data to an Everlaw via an AI agent.
Metadata value lookup for MCP searches
Everlaw’s MCP server now looks up the values that entities and custodian fields accept, so your AI agent can confirm the right entity, email address, or custodian before it runs a search. When you ask about someone, the agent lists the matching names and addresses in your project, and you choose the one you mean. Previously, a search on a spelling the project doesn’t use returned no results, with no hint of why.
MCP activity in Historic User Activity
Project Admins can now see MCP activity in Everlaw’s Historic User Activity page. Each MCP tool call that Everlaw logs, such as a search or a document text request, is recorded as a user activity event alongside the rest of the project's activity. This gives you a record of what connected AI tools did on a project and who ran them. You can filter the page to a single OAuth client when you need to review one app. Before this release, some MCP actions created audit events and others did not. The AI provider name also appeared inside the action description rather than in the User column.
Improvements to the Organization Everlaw AI page
Some organizations have databases managed by multiple contracts with different AI provisions, which has made it tricky to properly allocate and track credit usage across contracts. We have reorganized the Credit Management page so it is now cleaner and more straightforward for Organization Admins and Everlaw AI Admins to manage AI credits in organizations with multiple contract types.
There are no new steps or setup required. Instead, the Organization home > Everlaw AI > Credit management page is reorganized by contract type, with some visual improvements along with it. Only databases that have a Paid AI subscription are displayed.

| After: One contract type (Annual subscription) |
Deposition videos stay in sync when you add cover pages to the transcript
For video transcripts uploaded with an MDB sync file, renumbering a deposition transcript's pages to account for cover pages can now update its video sync as well as its citations and page navigation. Normally, the sync file accurately links the official citation pages to the right video timestamps so no action is needed. This feature lets you get your videos in sync even if the MDB references the PDFS actual page numbers.
Organization-level IP and country restrictions
Organization Admins can now restrict access to every project in their organization by IP address and country, from one page. A rule set at the organization level applies to all projects in the organization, so you don't have to set the same locations on each project. Before this change, location restrictions could be set only project by project, which made it easy for a project to go unrestricted if its settings were missed.
Batch redaction: Set the redaction type for all redactions of the same format
When you batch-redact multiple values of the same format, you can now select the same redaction type for all of them at once. Previously, you had to choose the redaction type for each value individually.
Treat a homepage folder like the Homepage: Create and automatically save new objects from within a folder
For large-scale projects, homepage folders are a vital organizational tool. With this release, we are adding functionality that lets you create objects, such as searches and binders, from within a folder. Any object created from within the folder is automatically saved into it.
With this improvement, you can save time and confusion navigating between the main homepage and a folder view.
Google Vault calendar exports are split into individual events
Everlaw now splits Google Vault calendar exports into individual events. When you upload a calendar export from Google Vault, either through the Google Vault connector or as native files, Everlaw reads the export’s metadata CSV and splits its single ICS file into one document per calendar event, so each event can be reviewed on its own. Before this release, Everlaw did not support the metadata CSV that Google Vault includes with calendar exports, and these exports did not process as expected through the connector.
Review only the inclusive emails among your search hits
Many teams want to review only the most inclusive emails in a thread, and don't want to review any emails in the thread that don't hit on particular search terms. This release includes a new option in Search Settings that makes it straightforward to organize email threads this way. When you choose this new removal option, called Grouped hits and non-inclusive emails within hits, you get the fewest emails that cover everything your search found.
Identify silent custodians in legal hold matters
Organization Admins and Legal Hold Organization Admins can now mark custodians as silent within a legal hold matter. Silent custodians stay in the matter and can still be preserved and tracked, but they are left out of hold notices. The system applies that exclusion for you, so you don't have to rely on your memory when you send a notice. Before this release, the Silent tag appeared only when Everlaw detected a custodian on a data preservation with no hold notice, and you could not set it yourself.
Start a processed upload from Staging Drive
When you promote documents from Staging Drive, you can now choose to start them as a processed upload. Previously, you could only promote from Staging Drive via native upload.
Entity Type Removed from Custom Extraction Fields
Entity is no longer an option for the Type of a custom extraction field. When you create a field, choose Text, Number, or DateTime. Everlaw already handles Entity fields the same way as Text fields, so the separate option is no longer needed. Existing extractions with the Type: Entity will be unaffected but the Type will be updated to Text. The field type sets the expected format of the extractions the AI generates for that field.

Explore project search options in the Everlaw MCP connector
Your AI agent can now look up a project’s binders, assignments, review categories and codes, document ratings, and search term reports in one request, and return document counts and search term instructions in a single tool call. This tool also takes a search ID to return metadata counts over subsets of your project documents. You can build a search from those results without a series of separate lookups. This is most useful when you want to return project binders or review codes, ordered by total doc count. Previously, the agent required multiple calls and costly token expenditure to get the same information.
Single sign-on for Everlaw Certification
Everlaw Certification now supports single sign-on (SSO). If you have an Everlaw account, you can sign in to your certification courses with your Everlaw credentials. You can still sign in with a certification username and password if you prefer.
Return to original document
In the review window: When you navigate through related documents using the context panel, a new Back to original document button takes you back to the original document you opened in the review window.
The button also appears when you activate a different segment while scrolling within the Chat view.
The option to jump back to your original document can reduce scrolling and keep you oriented in long chat threads.
Use a TAR file for a processed upload
When starting a processed upload, you can now upload a TAR file.
Deep Dive ingestion improvement for non-ASCII characters
We have improved how Deep Dive handles non-ASCII characters during document ingestion. This update will significantly improve responses for documents with CJK languages and documents containing emoji.
For all existing projects, all subsequently ingested text will automatically use the new character handling. Certain proactively impacted databases were re-ingested during mid September.
Disable saving uncited evidence in Everlaw for Word
You can now choose whether or not to save uncited evidence in Word documents using Everlaw for Word. Disabling this setting — Save uncited evidence — may improve stability when more than one user is reviewing the same Word document at the same time.
Visual improvements
- Date pickers on the User Analytics > History page has been updated and the page fields re-ordered so the date fields come after the User field.
