Improvements to creating and organizing legal holds
We have made several improvements to the Organization Legal Holds tab. These improvements update how legal holds are organized, and support users in navigating their databases/matters.
The improvements also update the steps to create a new legal hold (notice or data preservation) to better align with the relationship between custodians and holds in a given legal matter. With this release, new legal holds are created within the database/matter that they belong to, rather than from the main Legal Holds tab. While these improvements change the steps to create a matter and to start creating a new legal hold, there are no changes to any of the step-by-step processes to finish creating a legal hold once it has been created.

Support for restricted access permissions on legal hold matters
Organization Admins and Legal Hold Organization Admins can now control access permissions for individual legal hold matters. When this setting — Restrict matter permissions — is enabled, Admins with access to the matter can designate which Organization and Legal Hold Organization Admins also have access. If an Admin is not explicitly granted access to a matter with access permissions enabled, they cannot see that matter listed on the organization’s Legal Holds page.

Quick Review improvements
We have added a Display Settings button to the Quick Review window in the results table, which allows users to display or hide the following from the Quick Review window:
- Ratings/codes
- Metadata information
- [Media files only] Transcript (if present):
To adjust the settings, select the Display Settings button, then choose which tools you want to see in Quick Review.
As an alternative to the Display settings button in Quick Review, use the following keyboard shortcuts to toggle on/off the display of each:
- Ratings/codes: Press "k" to toggle the display of ratings codes on/off
- Metadata information: Press "m" to toggle the metadata display on/off
- [Media files only] Transcript (if present): Press "t" to toggle the transcript display on/off

Allow duplicate search terms in persistent highlight categories
Persistent highlight search terms, including PII identifiers, are no longer restricted to a single category. This change benefits reviewers by allowing them to evaluate terms within the context of other terms.

Parent organization API key access expanded to sub-organization data
API keys generated from a parent organization now support access to select endpoints for its sub-organizations. Previously, users intending to interact with sub-organizations via Everlaw’s external API had to create individual API keys at the sub-organization level. While this is still possible, it is no longer necessary when direct access to case data is necessary.
Learn more in our Everlaw API article.
New user events available on User Activity page and from Everlaw’s external API
The Project Management > User Activity page now displays the following events:
- User added to a project
- User removed from a project
- User invitation to a project deleted
- User invitation to a project resent
Learn more in our Everlaw API article.
Itemize Everlaw AI credit usage at the database level in invoices
Everlaw AI credit usage in invoices is now itemized by database. Previously, this charge was aggregated into a single line item at the organization level. This update provides transparency by databases so that organizations can understand Everlaw AI spend at a more detailed level.
Higher limit for Slack uploads through a cloud connection
We have updated the limit on what can be uploaded using our cloud connection to Slack. With this release, we support uploading up to 300,000 messages or edits created over a 24 hour period within a channel. A single upload can include a total number of messages and edits that is greater than 300,000, if those messages and edits are distributed across multiple channels or multiple days within a channel. As long as a given channel has fewer than 300,000 messages or edits in a 24 hour period, it complies with the limit.

Google Vault cloud connection available on GovCloud
Everlaw's cloud connection to Google Vault is now available on GovCloud. With this release, users on GovCloud databases can directly connect to Google Vault when uploading native data.

Visual Improvements
The visual styling of file transfer cards in Uploads > File Transfers have been updated. The initials of the person who transferred the files have moved from the bottom to the top of the card, and there is no longer a green checkmark to indicate that a card is completed.
